For the upcoming 2009-2010 academic year, the department will be offering a new degree aimed at providing future Chinese studies researchers with the practical, linguistic and academic skills required for conducting research on and in China. MA in Japanese Business Thai & South East Asian Studies Joint Honours and MA programmes The White Rose East Asia Centre (WREAC) We are pleased to announce that, in collaboration with the University
of Sheffield, we have been recommended an award of £4 million to
undertake world-class research and provide advanced research training
in Japanese and Chinese Studies. South East Asian Studies Korea Research Hub (KRH) - Launch of New Website The Korea Research Hub (KRH) website, a collaborative project between
the University of Leeds and the University of Sheffield, has just been
launched.
The KRH was established in June 2007 to promote the study of Korea, and
the Korea Research Hub website provides a number of useful web-based resources
to help those interested in Korean studies. The KRH website is also intended
to promote and facilitate networking and collaborative research among
Koreanists. The KRH team have ambitious plans to broaden the scope of
the project's work over the coming years. New Publication A new book entitled ‘China, Japan and Regional Leadership in East Asia’ edited by Christopher M. Dent has just been published by Edward Elgar publishers. The book is compiled of revised papers presented at a WREAC research workshop that took place last year.
